Sad loss, may he R.I.P Our thoughts be with his Family.

He was a long-running reported for Sca. Evg. News then freelance. He was also the press rep. for SARS either official or unofficial? but he got it publicised. Think he had a boat too and I never saw him in a car - always a small motorbike or moped.

I introduced Ger to SARS in the period when I wasn’t a member and he soon became Chairman. Ger worked tirelessly for the society and hosted CW NFD in his garden on more than one occasion. I operated in that contest for SARS one year from Ger’s garden".

Default Image of a Morse Key Earnest Stankiste  2025  G4FCH Ernie, an ex Royal Navy CW wireless operator who served in many parts of the world throughout the second world war, was a long standing member of the radio club, operated regularly on Field Day events and held the post of secretary for many years. STANKISTE Ernest William Peter B.E.M (Late of GCHQ), aged 93 years, peacefully on 30th November 2014

When we lived where we do now from 1996-2000 I visited Jim Yarker a few times. Jim was active in CW and on phone. His 3-element trapped Yagi on a wind-up mast was prominent and was noticed by hams from all over driving by on their way to Whitby on the main A169".

Default Image of a Morse Key Geoff Pritchard  2010  G4ZGP Before leaving for Stockport Geoff was made a an Honorary Member of SARS. Geoff G4ZGP was the UK Dept Chief Morse Examiner, serving under Roy G4SSH for ten years until the demise of CW. Geoff prouded himself in the use of a straight key with which he always sent perfect Morse. He was also a true gentleman!
