Bob Alders	2023	M0GAP	Bob Alders, or Robert as I had always called him was a Lovely man and was one of the Amateur Radio Trainers at the club, I believe he was one of the adjudicators too when we used to hold our exams at the Crossgates Community Centre. Sad loss, may he R.I.P Our thoughts be with his Family.

Mick Jefferson	2025	G8WYB	A long standing club member Mick Jefferson has died age 92. No single person knew more about Scarborough than Mick. He was a long-running reported for Sca. Evg. News then freelance. He was also the press rep. for SARS either official or unofficial? but he got it publicised. Think he had a boat too and I never saw him in a car - always a small motorbike or moped.
Ger Akse	2020	PA1AXE	Phil G4OBK said "Ger Akse as I knew him through his partner Christine initially, who worked with my wife Judy in Pickering in the noughties. I introduced Ger to SARS in the period when I wasn’t a member and he soon became Chairman. Ger worked tirelessly for the society and hosted CW NFD in his garden on more than one occasion. I operated in that contest for SARS one year from Ger’s garden".

Ron Young	2025	G4GWC	Ron Young was a keen member of SARS and put a lot of effort into his antennas and training others.
Tony Blythe	2015	G3LOJ	Tony Blythe, aged 84, sadly passed away on January 6th 2015. Tony had a DXCC for 80 metres. Tony was ex-RAF and a real CW enthusiastic. He lived in Kirkbymoorside.

Earnest Stankiste	2025	G4FCH	Ernie, an ex Royal Navy CW wireless operator who served in many parts of the world throughout the second world war, was a long standing member of the radio club, operated regularly on Field Day events and held the post of secretary for many years. STANKISTE Ernest William Peter B.E.M (Late of GCHQ), aged 93 years, peacefully on 30th November 2014
Jim Yarker	2011	G3GJY	Phil G4OBK said of Jim Yarker "Jim Yarker worked at RAF Fylingdales. Other old timers will know him better than me. When we lived where we do now from 1996-2000 I visited Jim Yarker a few times. Jim was active in CW and on phone. His 3-element trapped Yagi on a wind-up mast was prominent and was noticed by hams from all over driving by on their way to Whitby on the main A169".

Geoff Pritchard	2010	G4ZGP	Before leaving for Stockport Geoff was made a an Honorary Member of SARS. Geoff G4ZGP was the UK Dept Chief Morse Examiner, serving under Roy G4SSH for ten years until the demise of CW. Geoff prouded himself in the use of a straight key with which he always sent perfect Morse. He was also a true gentleman!
